The Premier League announces the list of candidates for the Best Player and Coach award this season


 The English Premier League announced the list of nominees for the Best Player, Best Young Player, and Best Coach awards for the 2023-2024 Premier League season, as the current season approaches its end.


 Egyptian star Mohamed Salah was absent from the nominations despite scoring 18 goals for Liverpool this season, due to his departure from the Liverpool squad for several matches, due to the injury he suffered during the last African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.


 Today, Thursday, the League published each list separately through the Premier League account on the  The winner of the best player and young player will be announced on Saturday the 18th of the same month, while the best coach award will be announced 3 days later.


 The list of candidates for the best player included 4 English players out of 8, and 4 players from the two teams competing for the league title, which are from Manchester City and Arsenal.


 Below is the list of nominees for the Premier League Player of the Year award for the current season:

 1- Englishman Phil Foden: Manchester City (24 goals).


 2- Norwegian Erling Haaland: Manchester City (25 goals).

 3-Swedish Alexander Isak: Newcastle (20 goals).


 4- Norwegian Martin Odegaard: Arsenal (8 goals).

 5- Englishman Cole Palmer: Chelsea (16 goals).

 6- Englishman Declan Rice: Arsenal (7 goals).

 7- Dutch Virgil van Dijk: Liverpool (third in terms of number of correct passes in the Premier League, and was only dribbled twice throughout this season).

 8- Englishman Ollie Watkins: Aston Villa (19 goals).


 Best young player


 As for the list of candidates for the Best Young Player Award, it included 4 players from the previous list, namely Haaland, Foden, Palmer, and Isak, along with Arsenal star and top scorer Bukayo Saka, defender William Saliba, along with Manchester United midfielder Kobe Maino, and Tottenham left back Destiny Udoji.

 The Premier League account on YouTube published a lengthy video clip, devoting an entire section to each nominated player individually, with analytical snapshots of his best performances this season with his team.


 In the same context, 5 of the best coaches in the English Premier League were nominated during the current season for the Best Coach Award, and Spanish coaches dominated the list with 4 coaches.


 At the forefront of the candidates were Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa coach Unai Emery, Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola, in addition to the German Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp.
